Peyten turns 9

Peyten had his bday yesterday on memorial day. We had just gotten back from spending the weekend in San Antonio with the Spendloves. The lake where their lakehouse is beautiful, I can't get over that I was at a lake in Texas. It was a great time except for the fact that Lauren and I both had the stomach flu.

Peyten got some fun gifts, thanks to Brent and Austen shopping for him. He got a catchers mitt, new golf gloves, a rip stick, and some video games. I am still trying to talk him out of having a party cause I hate them. I bribe my kids with money, I am not ashamed in the least. Brent had to announce that he told Peyten he could have friends over for a sleepover on friday, if that's the case I am taking the money I promised him and Lauren and I are going to a hotel for the night. Brent can run the party.

Lauren is home from school today because she is still sick with the flu. It is a bad one that lasts 3 days. Hope the other kids don't get it.

Just a few photos

Austen is dressed up for a Court of Honor that I mentioned some time back. He received a few awards that night.

The first baseball pic is of Peyten batting, thought it was a sweet picture if I do say so myself. Austen is batting in the second pic.

Another friday

Only 8 more days left of school, or 7 for my kids cause we always skip a day in the last week and go to the beach. I am getting excited to have the kids home and for our fun summer to start. We have way too many things planned, so no time to waste. Also, Karen Johnsen, our babysitter from last year is going to be home for the summer and so will be helping out with the kids, especially Ashlen. She will be here everyday, can't wait for her to help out. I have some major clean up jobs around the house that we will all be involved in. Maybe we can finish unpacking from 4 years ago.

It was 98 degrees today, way too hot. I hear in other parts of the US it is still snowing!!!! That crazy global warming. That will teach us.

The kids and I, minus Austen, are headed to San Antonio for the holiday weekend to see the spendloves and visit their new lakehouse. We are looking forward to it, but wish Brent and Austen could go. Austen has a Baseball tournament. He was trying to fake an injury the beginning of the week, but saw through that right away when he used that arm to hit 5 homeruns in the neighborhood baseball game in the cul-de-sac. I am a smart mom!!!!!

I am having a hard time with pictures and my computer, don't know what the problem is exactly. That's the problem with computers, they are too complicated to figure out how to solve the problem. When I figure something out I just came upon it by chance and don't know how to come about by it again. does that even make any sense? Maybe i could get my four year old neighbor to help me, they are born with computer knowledge these days.

Got to run to pick up the kids!!!

Peytens mothers day poem

My mom is always honest
She never tells a lie
At board games she never cheats
She is never shy.

My mom is an exercise gal
She likes to lift the weights
She tries her best
To 24-hour fitness she is never late.

My mom rocks at the piano
She can really hit the keys
She can hit the pedals when she needs
Can you help me please?

My mom is excellent at snuggling
She is really warm
She will kiss me any time
She feels like a dorm.

Mom I love you very much
I think you are the best
I wouldn't trade you for no other
I think you are above the rest.

Love Peyten

Happy Mothers day

It was nice to have my 13th mothers day. Can't believe I have a teenager, I feel like one myself. The kids were all really cute when they brought me in my gifts. I got cute cards, a sweet poem from Peyten that was hilarious. He wrote it at school and it had to rhyme so some of it doesn't make sense but it rhymes. Ashlen made me a flower pot with her hand print at the babysitters house and another hand print in clay at church nursery. I also got flowers and my gift was cash this year. I told Lauren to tell Brent that I wanted money instead of a gift. That way I can get something i really want. Don't know what to get yet, still thinking!!!!!

There are only 15 more days left of school. The count down has begun. I love my kids being home with me and we have a busy fun summer planned.

Last night we went to get ice cream for family night and somehow one of the kids cones went flying across the back seat of my car. It was dark so i couldn't see the damage until this morning. I think it hit every possible spot it could as well as get Ashlens car seat. What a mess. Good thing I know a car dealership who will clean it up for me.

I think Ashlen and I are going to head down to the city today to look for some graduation gifts. I know a great place where you can get Louis V. purses cheap, you do have to be blind folded and lead into a back room to get the deals though. Maybe I shouldn't bring Ashlen!!!! He he.

Busted

Ok, some of you may now that I have an addictive personality, but to weird things. Also the addiction usually goes away after a few months, when the newness wears off. Maybe this is normal. Last weekend Brent and the kids got guitar hero, which I love and play whenever I am at the neighbors or at Walmart. I got in a fight with a 7 year old a few weeks ago in Dallas cause he was hogging the thing. He just thought I was standing there watching him, but no, I was in line the little stingy boy. I played it the first night we got it until 1 am and then the next day and so on. I am getting much better and am loving the fact that I am jamming. Well, I went to my piano lessons this week and blurted out how much I was playing guitar hero and after a really terrible lesson, she looked at me and told me maybe I should practice as much as I play guitar hero. I looked at her with shock and immediately felt like I was going to get a spanking when I got home. I felt bad all day, but when it came to start jamming on guitar hero again, I quickly forgot my shame and passed of more songs. This reminds me of the year Brent bought me the Harry Potter playstation game and I played it constantly until I passed it which took about 3 months. The kids would run up stairs with me and help me play, so we were bonding. I need group therapy!!!!

We have another long weekend in the works. This is Laurens last volleyball tournament and it is a big one downtown. Austen has a baseball tournament and Peyten has his first kid pitch game and he is the starting pitcher. Sounds like fun!!!!!!
